Burlington, Vt. - Brock Bradford and Ben Smith each scored one goal but the visiting Eagles could not overcome a three-goal deficit as No. 14 Vermont defeated seventh-ranked Boston College, 4-2, before 4,003 fans in Gutterson Fieldhouse.
Bradford scored his second goal in as many games to bring to bring the Eagles within one goal just 41 seconds in the third period and BC had numerous chances to tie the score, including Brian Boyle's backhanded rebound that hit the right post at 5:22 in the third stanza, but failed to convert.
Smith notched his third goal of the season at 7:51, burying a rebound off a Kyle Kucharski backhand to get the Eagles on the scoreboard.
The Catamounts (14-8-2, 9-4-2 Hockey East) added an empty-net tally with three seconds left in regulation for the 4-2 final.
Boston College (12-8-1, 9-6-1 HE) out shot Vermont, 27-18.
Despite posting a 13-7 advantage in first-period shots, BC entered the first intermission trailing by two after Brayden Irwin beat BC goalie Cory Schneider at 5:35 and Torrey Mitchell converted on a breakaway with 27 seconds left in the period.
The Catamounts extended their lead to three goals when Irwin recorded his second goal of the game - on the power-play - at 6:33 of the middle period before the visiting Eagles got on the scoreboard.
Vermont goalie Joe Fallon recorded 25 saves to earn his 13th victory of the season.
BC junior goalie Cory Schneider tallied 14 saves in the losing effort.
