UT's Kelson to be Featured Camp Instructor at 2004 Tennessee PGA Junior Golf Academy

University of Tennessee head men's golf coach Jim Kelson will be the featured camp instructor at the 2004 Tennessee PGA Junior Golf Academy July 25-30 at the Golf House Tennessee in Franklin.

Kelson will conduct coaching and teaching clinics to all campers during the week and will cover areas most players need to master if they desire to play college golf.

Some of the topics Kelson will share include physical fitness, tournament preparation, sports psychology and a player/coaches panel that will cover academic requirements, resume writing, tournament scheduling and how to market yourself as a player.

Since arriving at the UT in 1998, Kelson has guided the Vols to four NCAA Regionals and one NCAA Championship appearance in 2003. Overall, Kelson has 47 top five finishes and nine appearances in NCAA regional play and five trips to the NCAA Championship.

Located in Franklin (south of Nashville), all of Tennessee's major golf organizations are headquartered at Golf House Tennessee. The Tennessee Golf Foundation (TGF), Tennessee Golf Association (TGA), and the Tennessee Section PGA (TPGA) operate out of Golf House. Also located at Golf House Tennessee is the Tennessee Golf Hall of Fame which currently has 15 members and various golf memorabilia from some of Tennessee's greatest amateur and professional golfers.
