April 30, 2004

Toledo, OH - Head Men's Golf Coach Jamie Mauntler announced today the signings of two student-athletes to national letters of intent to attend the University of Toledo beginning in the 2004-05 academic year. Reno Langevin (Scott, PQ) and Mike Trivisonno (Wickliffe, OH) have each decided to become members of the Rockets' golf program.

"I'm excited to have both Reno and Mike become a part of our program," Mauntler said. "They both have a good chance to come in and contribute right away for us."

Langevin's top amateur showings came with victories at the 2003 Quebec Future Links Championship (three-under par 210) and the 2001 Quebec Junior Match Play Championship as well as a runner-up finish at the 2001 Quebec Junior Championship. He has participated in four Canadian Junior Championships and one United States Junior Championship with his best round ever coming with a seven-under 65.

"Reno may take a little time to adjust coming from Quebec because the golf courses are a little bit shorter there," Mauntler said. "He also will have get used to a different culture but I think he should come in and help us immediately because he hits the ball far and he's a good ball striker."

Trivisonno captured Ohio's Division III medalist honors as a senior to lead Gilmour Academy to the Division II & III state title. He was named Northeast Ohio's Player of the Year and holds school record for most rounds under par (13), most rounds under 40 (29), four-year scoring average (38.8). Trivisonno also captured sectional titles on three occasions with one first-place and two second-place showings in districts. He also captured a conference title as a senior to earn the Mac 8's Player of Year honors and tied Arnold Palmer's course record at Pine Ridge C.C. with a 63.

"Mike is coming to Toledo as one of the better players in the state of Ohio," Mauntler said. "We're going to try to bring the top players in the state each year to Toledo. Mike can hit the ball long and I don't think he'll have a problem adjusting to the collegiate game."
