Los Angeles, CA (Jan. 27) - The Loyola Marymount University men's golf team will host the second annual Carson Daly Intercollegiate CDI on Feb. 7-8 at the Robinson Ranch Golf Course in Santa Clarita, Calif. The Lions will co-host the event with Masters College as 12 institutions will be represented in this year's field.
"We have been very fortunate to partner with Masters College and Carson Daly of NBC to put on this event for the second consecutive year," said Head Coach Alex Galvan, who started the event a year ago. "The field is much improved and we are excited to once again have a tournament to call our own."
In addition to the Lions, this year's Intercollegiate will feature teams from Santa Clara, Utah Valley State, Sacramento State, Cal State Northridge, The Maters College, Grand Canyon, Notre Dame De Namur and Holy Names. UCLA, Cal Poly and Cal Lutheran will enter individuals in the event.

The tournament will be held at the Robinson Ranch Golf Course. One of California's premier golf destinations, Robinson Ranch's Mountain and Valley golf courses, nestled at the base of the Angeles National Forest, offer breathtaking views of the Santa Clarita Valley. With consideration to the conservation and preservation of indigenous plant and animal life in the development and management of the property, Robinson Ranch has obtained certification as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary with Silver Signature Status.
The Mountain Course (par-71 and 6,508 yards) was opened February of 2000 and was site of the 2002 SBC Senior Tour Qualifying Event. In addition, the course was the site of the 2001 and 2002 Cure Autism Now-ER Celebrity Golf Tournament. The Valley Course (par-72 and 6,903 yards) opened in June of 2000 and features 6 tough finishing holes appropriately named "Death Row". In addition to the dates being set for this year's Carson Daly tournament, the Lions had other changes to their 2005 spring schedule. The Sacramento State Men's Invitational scheduled for March 12-14 has been cancelled. The Lions will now play in the Pala Mesa Invitational hosted by Drake University. The tournament will be played in Temecula, Calif., on Feb. 12-15.
The Lions will still play in the Fidelity National Title Intercollegiate on March 23-25 and the West Coast Conference championships on April 10-12.
