Mustangs could announce new coach this weekend

A source with knowledge of the SMU coaching search tells CSTVcom that it appears that SMU has narrowed their candidates to former Miami head coach Larry Coker and former Texas A&M coach Dennis Franchione.  A decision and announcement could come this weekend.

SMU fired Phil Bennett back in Oct. 28, a day after the Mustangs lost 29-23 at Tulsa and were eliminated from bowl contention.
