Decision day may be looming for LSU head coach Nick Saban, who met earlier this week with the NFL's Miami Dolphins about their head coaching position.
A report in Friday's Miami Herald cites an NFL source as saying that the Dolphins will present Saban's agent with a contract offer before the weekend is over. Miami would give Saban control of the football operation in a deal worth over $4 million/year.
The LSU coach has a clause in his contract allowing him to interview with NFL teams between the end of the regular season and January 1. Last year, Saban met with the Chicago Bears after LSU's win in the Orange Bowl, but removed himself from consideration. In previous years, he has been linked to jobs in Jacksonville and Tampa Bay as well.
Saban is currently preparing the 9-2 Tigers for their New Year's Day meeting with Iowa in the Capital One Bowl.
