Tigers workout in rain and colder temperatures

Dec. 15, 2007

Auburn - Rain and colder temperatures greeted the 21st-ranked Auburn Tigers Saturday morning for their two-hour practice as the Tigers continued preparations for their Dec. 31, Chick-fil-A Bowl game against the Clemson Tigers.

Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville said the Tigers concentrated on fundamentals during Saturday's practice.

"We got a lot done today," Tuberville said. "We stuck with fundamentals and got a little work in on the game plan for Clemson. We'll start more of that tomorrow. We'll also start working on the kicking game, but right now we tried to focus on the fundamentals of tackling and blocking."

With finals wrapping up this week, Tuberville noted the players' attention has been good through Friday and Saturday's practices.

"It was a good day of practice," Tuberville said. "The guys' attention has been good and they are enthusiastic because they know they get to go home Tuesday if they work hard."

The 2007 Chick-fil-A Bowl kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET and will aired nationally by ESPN. Auburn enters the game with an 8-4 overall record and a 5-3 mark in the Southeastern Conference. Clemson holds a 9-3 overall record and is 5-3 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The Tigers will practice again Sunday, Dec. 16, at 3:45 p.m.
