National finalist and defending champion Grand Valley State placed six players on the first-team to dominate the 2006 Daktronics, Inc. Division II All-America Football team. Leading the way for the Lakers were WR Eric Fowler, OL Brandon Barnes, two-time All-American DL Mike McFadden and Harlon Hill Finalist QB Cullen Finnerty, all who were top vote getters at their positions. Junior's LB Anthony Adams and CB Brandon Carr were also named to the first-team after helping to hold opponents to 15.6 points per game.

He accounted for 3,460 yards of total offense and 47 touchdowns on the season... 2006 GLIAC Offensive Lineman of the Year and a First-Team All-GLIAC honoree for the second straight year...Key member of an offense that allowed just 21 QB sacks this season...Main contributor to an offense that averaged 168.4 yards per game rushing and 225.7 yards per game passing.

Gene Upshaw Award Finalist...McFadden earned the GLIAC Defensive Lineman of the Year award for the second straight season. In addition, McFadden was a First-Team All-GLIAC honoree for the second straight year...Daktronics Northwest Region First Team honoree...Mike tallied 54 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss (-53 yards) and 7.0 sacks (-41 yards) in 12 games played...McFadden was named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts at Ferris State when he recorded six tackles, two tackles-for-loss (-5 yards), a QB sack and recovered a fumble. McFadden became the NCAA D-II all-time record holder for career quarterback sacks with 34.5 and moved into fourth all-time in D-II career tackles for loss with 56.5. Mike ranks 15th in career tackles for loss per game (1.11) in Division II history.
