Lemming: Tebow Headed To Florida

Dec. 12, 2005

Quarterback Tim Tebow from St. Augustine Nease High School in Florida will announce his college commitment tomorrow.

The left-handed QB has narrowed his choices to USC, Florida, LSU, Michigan and Alabama.

"I definitely believe it is down to two schools, Florida and Alabama. My gut feeling is that he will commit to the Florida Gators,'' CSTV recruiting expert Tom Lemming said.

Tebow led his Nease to the 5-A State title this weekend. He has broken several state passing records, including most yards (over 10,000).

"I believe he is the No. 8 player in the country," Lemming added. "He missed the first three games of the season due to a high ankle sprain. He rebounded and threw for more than 3,400 yards on the season. He reminds me of a thicker Steve Young.

"Javon Snead switched his commitment from Florida to Texas and with Josh Portis indicating that he is going to transfer it gives strong reason to believe that Tebow will be on his way to Florida," added Lemming.

"I will be greatly surprised if he does not announce for the Gators Tuesday,'' Lemming said.
