Vanderbilt Coach Withdraws From Duke Search
Johnson met with officials from Duke about their coaching vacancy on Monday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Vanderbilt football coach Bobby Johnson has withdrawn his name from consideration for the head coaching vacancy at Duke.
Johnson said Tuesday he informed Vanderbilt vice chancellor David Williams, who oversees athletics, and Duke that he will remain at Vanderbilt.
Johnson met with officials from Duke about their coaching vacancy on Monday in Durham, N.C. He has a 20-50 record since arriving at Vanderbilt in 2002.
Former UCLA coach Karl Dorrell also was spotted on the Duke campus Monday and former East Carolina coach and Boston College assistant Steve Logan also is believed to be in consideration.
Ted Roof was fired as Duke's coach on Nov. 26 after posting a 6-45 record in four-plus seasons.
