Fowler selected to play in East-West Shrine Game

Air Force senior linebacker Drew Fowler has been selected to play in the East-West Shrine game on Saturday, Jan. 19, in Houston, Texas.
Fowler, a two-time all-Mountain West Conference selection, led the Falcons and ranked third in the conference with 110 tackles this season. He had 10 or more tackles in five games this season including a season-best 16 vs. Navy.
Fowler helped lead a much-improved Falcon defense which ranked fourth in the conference in scoring defense with an average of 19.3 points per game. In addition, the defense led the conference in the red zone, allowing opponents to score just 69.8 percent of the time.
Air Force finished the regular season at 9-3 overall and placed second in the Mountain West Conference with a 6-2 mark. The Falcons will play in their first post-season bowl game since 2002 when the team plays in the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl on Dec. 31, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. MT. The team's opponent has not been determined.
