Dec. 7, 2007

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- Navy coach Paul Johnson apparently is set to replace Chan Gailey at Georgia Tech.

Johnson agreed Friday morning to become the next football coach at Georgia Tech, according to a report on the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's web site.

Citing two anonymous sources close to the situation, the newspaper reported that Georgia Tech still is waiting for Johnson to finalize the deal by signing a contract.

Johnson, 50, would replace Gailey, who was fired November 26 after guiding the Yellow Jackets to a 7-5 record this season.
