FRESNO, Calif. - For the fifth time this season, a Bulldog has won the WAC Special Teams Player of the Week award. Senior punter Kyle Zimmerman won the award for the second time after an outstanding performance in Fresno State's 30-23 win at New Mexico State.

Zimmerman, a senior from Visalia, Calif., punted four times in the wind and rain for an average of 47.0 yards One of his punts went for 60 yards and another was downed at the Aggies' nine-yard line. Only one punt was returned for just four yards. Three of his punts were 50 yards or better, the first time in his career he'd done that. The 60-yard punt was one-yard shy of his personal best.

"Kyle certainly has punted well for us this season," said head coach Pat Hill. "He's been a big part of our special teams."

Hawai`i wide receiver Jason Rivers and Nevada linebacker Ezra Butler were named the Western Athletic Conference offensive and defensive players of the week, respectively. Fresno State nominated sophomore running back Anthony Harding and senior linebacker Marcus Riley for the award.
