WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue Athletics invites all area children to attend their 2008 season-opening football game Sept. 6 against Northern Colorado. Children have the opportunity to experience a college football game as the Boilermakers host NCAA Football's 11th-annual "Take A Kid to the Game" (TAKG) program. Youngsters, ages 14 and younger, will receive a free ticket with the purchase of each full-priced adult ticket to watch the Boilermakers at Ross-Ade Stadium.

Purdue is one of more than 200 schools across the nation hosting a game in this campaign focused on allowing youth the opportunity to attend college football games. The "Take A Kid to the Game" program is entering into its 13th year in the promotion of collegiate athletics.

"Purdue Athletics is excited about this event, where kids from the community will have a chance to be apart of our game-day experience and support NCAA Football's `Take A Kid to the Game' program," athletics director Morgan Burke said. "This game-day experience is an opportunity for children to spend quality time with a parent or role model and learn about sportsmanship that can be demonstrated on the playing field."

Tickets for this special game may be purchased at the Purdue Athletic Ticket Office. Adult tickets are $40 each. The ticket office is located in the Intercollegiate Athletic Facility and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fans also may order by phone at 800-49-SPORT or 765-494-3194.
