Auburn Football Practice Report

Tigers practice twice Monday

Aug. 11, 2008

Auburn, Ala. - The Auburn football team wrapped up its second workout of the day with an hour-long practice on the intramural fields Monday afternoon. The Tigers began the day by going for nearly an hour and a half in the morning session.

After 10 days of practice, Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville said he has been generally pleased with the work and progress of the Tigers.

"Overall, our camp has gone well," Tuberville noted. "The guys have worked hard and we've got a chance to get better if we keep working hard and are able to have guys out there consistently. We've even cut practices back in length. We looked at last year and practices were about 25 minutes longer but we've been getting more reps because of the tempo we are going at. We haven't lost anything and knowing that is the reason we cut a little time out."

Auburn offensive line coach Hugh Nall noted the progress of his unit, saying the Tigers' offensive linemen are working on developing consistency.

"The consistency is not what it needs to be," Nall said. "We've moved some guys around, which is a good thing for this time of year, but that has hurt our consistency. We have come a long way, but we're not where we need to be yet."

The Tigers will practice again on the intramural fields at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Auburn's season opener is August 30, when the Tigers host Louisiana-Monroe at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Single-game tickets are available for the Louisiana-Monroe, Southern Miss, Arkansas and Tennessee-Martin home games. To purchase tickets visit www.auburntigers.com or call 800-AUB-1957.
