UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; - The Second Annual Penn State Football Letterman's Club golf outing on Saturday was a huge success as more than 100 former players and current coaches enjoyed a great day at the Penn State Blue Course.
Players spanning more than 50 years of Nittany Lion Football returned to campus for golf, dinner and fellowship. Head Coach Joe Paterno joined the former players for dinner.
Among the former players who returned were from the 1950's (Ray Alberigi and Jim Hochberg), the 1960's (Galen Hall, Jerry Sandusky, Don Abbey, Bob Campbell, Sam Sobczak and Jim McCormick), the 1970's (Chuck Fusina, Lydell Mitchell, Greg Murphy, Matt Suhey, Lance Mehl, Jim Laslavic, Mike Orsini and Scott Fitzkee), the 1980's (Brad Scovill, Bill Contz, Trey Bauer, Eddie Johnson, Tom Bill), the 1990's (Keith Goganious, Rich Rosa, Stephen Pitts, Brian Gelzheiser, Mike McQueary, Josh Kroell, Jason Henderson), and alums from this decade, including Justin Kurpeikis, Mike Cerimele, Zack Mills, Tyler Lenda, Mike Lukac, Kevin Suhey and Patrick Weber.
The outing also included two sets of fathers and sons who have played for the Nittany Lions: Fran, Chris and Jason Ganter and John and Todd Kulka.
The winning team was comprised of Doug Farren, Gerald Filardi, Brandon Parmer and Gelzheiser.
