Four additional games have been added to the 2008 SWAC television schedule


JSU to have two televised games in 2008

ESPN Classic has picked up the Sept. 6 conference matchup between Alcorn State and Grambling State from GSU's Eddie Robinson Stadium. Kickoff will remain at 6 p.m.

SportSouth will televise the Southern Heritage Classic matchup between Jackson State and Tennessee State from the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, TN. Kickoff for the 'Battle of Tigers' is set for 6 p.m.

The Southland Conference TV Network will air a pair of games involving SWAC teams. Grambling State's Sept. 13 game at Northwestern State will be televised at 6 p.m. from Natchitoches, La. On Oct. 4, the Texas Southern-Texas State matchup will be shown at 6 p.m. from San Marcos, TX.

Television affiliates of the Southland TV Network will be announced later.

Currently, SWAC teams will be featured on regional or national television 14 times.

GRAMBLING STATE, TEXAS SOUTHERN TO BATTLE IN ALAMO CITY The Thurs. Nov. 20 matchup between Grambling State and Texas Southern has moved to the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX. The kickoff time remains unchanged at 8 p.m. and will be televised live on ESPNU.

SWAC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME TURNS 10; EASTERN DIVISION TREND
For the 10th consecutive season, the SWAC Football Championship will be decided in a matchup of division winners.

Last season's 42-31 championship game victory by Jackson State was the second straight win by an Eastern Division team and third in the past four years. Western Division teams Southern and Grambling State had combined to win the first five titles in championship game history. Alabama State and Alabama A&M won the previous two Conference titles from the Eastern Division.

This year's SWAC Championship game will be played Saturday, Dec. 13 at 1 p.m. at Birmingham's Legion Field and televised live on ESPN Classic.
