The Touchdown Club of Houston is sponsoring UH Day with proceeds going to the Club's three community-service projects.

The Club has donated nearly $120,000 in weights and weight equipment into 24 Greater Houston high schools with nearly $140,000 in scholarships to almost 200 Greater Houston children during the last nine years.

In addition, the Club has brought in high school academic advisors to at-risk high school campuses through the Play-It-Smart program. Through that program, the graduation rate at 200 high schools across the country has jumped from 33 percent to nearly 95 percent.

Of the 95 percent of students who graduated from high school, nearly 80 percent have continued their academic careers at college.
