Tulsa Signs California Junior College Tight End to National Letter-of-Intent

Tulsa, Oklahoma - University of Tulsa Head Coach Steve Kragthorpe announced today the signing of California Junior College tight end Aaron Roupili (Row -po-lee) to a national letter-of-intent. Roupoli's signing increases Tulsa's total number of football signees to 26.

Roupoli (6'2", 239 lbs) was the starting tight end for the past two years at Santa Ana Junior College. He had 29 recepitons for 379 yards and three touchdowns during the 2004 campaign. Roupoli ranked second on the team in receptions and was 16th in the Mission Conference. In his two seasons, he caught 35 passes for 469 yards and three TDs. He earned second-team all-conference honors this past season.

As a prep athlete, Roupoli was a two-year letterwinner and started his senior season as an offensive tackle at Mater Dei High School in Huntington Beach, California. He also played defensive end in high school. Roupoli helped lead his team to a 19-8 record in his two seasons on the varsity. He was an honorable mention all-conference selection as a senior.

"We're excited about the addition of Aaron to our 2005 recruiting class," said Kragthorpe. "Although we signed two high school tight ends in this year's class, we wanted to be able to complement them with a junior college transfer. We're confident that Aaron will be able to come in and help us immediately."
