Kansas State Gets All Clear From NCAA

Wildcats reported a possible violation back in October

MANHATTAN, Kansas (Ticker) - Kansas State's football program will not face any punishment after the NCAA wrapped up an investigation of possible violations without findings Tuesday.

The NCAA had been called in back in October, when the Wildcats reported a possible violation. The nature of that apparent violation was not disclosed, but the school said it centered on one former university employee, three former football players, and two players from the 2007 team.

However, the NCAA has now declared the matter closed.

"We are obviously quite pleased with the NCAA's decision," said Kansas State director of athletics Tim Weiser said. "We diligently worked with the NCAA on this matter and cooperated fully with the enforcement staff. We are happy that it is now concluded.

"I have always maintained that we have never, nor will we ever, tolerate intentional violations of NCAA rules. We have the highest regard for compliance with the rules. I would like to thank members of the faculty and those of our athletics staff who played an integral part in this process and helped bring about this satisfactory conclusion."
