NEWARK, Delaware (Ticker) -- Former backup Ohio State quarterback Rob Schoenhoft has transferred to Delaware, the school announced on Monday.
A native of Mason, Ohio, Schoenhoft is expected to battle for the starting job with the Blue Hens in the fall. The 21-year-old has two years of eligibility remaining.
"Rob adds great depth to the position," Delaware coach K.C.
Keeler said. "He is a big, athletic, strong-armed kid who had an amazing high school career. Everyone we spoke with about Rob remarked about his intelligence and leadership abilities. We are excited to see him out here for spring practice." Finishing second to Todd Boeckman in a position battle last fall, Schoenhoft appeared in seven games for Ohio State, completing 17-of-25 attempts for 129 yards without a touchdown.
He also appeared in two games at a redshirt freshman in 2006.
