GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - A sixth Guilford College football player was charged Monday with assaulting a Palestinian student, court officials said.

Micah Rushing, 21, was released on a promise to appear, the Guilford County Magistrate's Office said.

The charges stem from accusations by three Palestinian students who said they were beaten by several members of the school's football team, taunted with racial slurs and called "terrorists" just after midnight Jan. 20, according to court documents.

Besides assault, the five other players have been charged with ethnic intimidation.

Faris Khader, one of the three accusers, swore out the assault warrant against Rushing, the magistrate's office said. None of the charges against the players are the result of police investigation.

Rushing is a wide receiver and running back who averaged nearly 142 all-purpose yards a game and was named to the Division III Old Dominion Athletic Conference all-conference team.
