LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Former University of Miami linebacker Willie Williams could be headed to Louisville.

New Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe has met with Williams, who played for West Los Angeles College in Culver City, Calif., last season following a troubled career at Miami.

Louisville spokesman Rocco Gasparro said Kragthorpe had no comment on Williams' possible transfer. NCAA rules prohibit coaches from talking about recruits until the signing period begins on Feb. 6.

"We're recruiting him," Gasparro said. "He has met with coach and (athletic director) Tom Jurich has met with Willie and his mom and dad."

Jurich and West Los Angeles College coach Craig Austin know each other from Jurich's days as athletic director at Northern Arizona University, Gasparro said.

Williams was one of the nation's most promising high school prospects in 2004 despite a past that included 11 arrests, jail time and two stints on probation.

He spent two years at Miami and played in 10 games in 2005 as a redshirt freshman before asking for his release from the program.
