Key To
The Game

From the outset, the guy who set the tone was Derrick Harvey. He had two sacks in the first half and the defense finished with five sacks. Jarvis Moss was in there also. The two defensive ends were the key. The constant defensive pressure from the ends forced Troy Smith to be on the move all game. I thought those two guys really changed the game.

X-Factor
It was just the overall athleticism of Florida. You saw Florida receivers getting yards after the catch and making people miss. You saw Tim Tebow making people miss. I think when you saw Ohio State complete a pass or ran the ball it was Florida's initial tackle that brought them down. They did a great job out in space. They kept Troy Smith in check and Antonio Pittman was a non-factor.

Why Florida Won It
Chris Leak, but for a different reason than some people might say. I remember early in the season he talked about how he wanted to throw for a certain amount of yards. Urban Meyer came out and said at Florida you're not judged by stats. You're judged by how many championships you win. Now Leak can be considered a legend in Gainesville. Not only did he win the SEC, he won the national championship. I think with Danny Wuerffel, he'll go down as one of the all-time Florida quarterbacks and one of the great all-time underappreciated quarterbacks in college football history.

Why Ohio State Lost It
I think Ohio State was out-played and out-coached. I think Florida had a terrific game plan of attacking the perimeter. Ohio State never adjusted. They just continued to stay in their zones and Florida just killed them. They were throwing underneath and showing them a lot of different looks early on. The Ohio State defense was on their heels the entire time.

MVP
Urban Meyer because of the way he had his team prepared. This game wasn't even close. And let's not forget the opponent. This was an undefeated Ohio State team that wasn't really tested all season, except for the Illinois game and that was aberration. They had dominated teams and they were the clear cut, unquestioned No. 1 team. And I just thought Meyer's team was more focused, more ready to play and they were terrific. They threw the kitchen sink at Ohio State and the Buckeyes had no answer.

Key To
The Game

Ohio State couldn't catch up with Florida's offense early on. Second half the defense played much better. Offensively for Ohio State, they lose Ted Ginn, no one steps up at wide receiver. Ohio State didn't establish the run. That results in no running game so they're one-dimensional and they couldn't block the speedy defensive ends of Florida. Other than their one drive where Antonio Pittman scored, they were horrible offensively.

X-Factor
It was coming in big and being physical for four quarters for Florida. That was the name of the game for Ohio State, but they never got it done. There was great play calling for Florida. They kept Ohio State off balance most of the night.

Why Florida Won It
Florida didn't make any mistakes and those yards after the catch were huge. They got the ball in the hands of a number of different playmakers. Chris Leak was phenomenal. He was poised in the pocket and made great decision.

Why Ohio State Lost It
Ohio State's biggest problem was no running game. They couldn't keep their defense off the field. That soft zone was just exploited by Leak. They had guys just covering grass. Whenever Ohio State's receivers got the ball they just went down and they never stretched the field. They never threw a deep pass. Not one long pass. That was easy for the Gators defense. Ohio State tried to be too cute. Do what you do best. Run the ball. It was just dumb on their part not committing more to the run.

MVP
Leak is the choice on offense, but on defense is has to be those defensive ends Jarvis Moss and Derrick Harvey. Both of them had crucial sacks. And how about Urban Meyer?

Key To
The Game

Troy Smith's poor play. Regardless of whether or not he won the Heisman Trophy, he just never got started in the first half and Ohio State couldn't get going in the second half.

X-Factor
The defensive line for Florida. They shut down the run and put pressure on Smith. They didn't allow him to get set and made him run outside the tackles and get out of the pocket. The best thing that happened to them was Ted Ginn on the opening play of the game and he got hurt.

Why Florida Won It
Chris Leak. His maturity of four years, making the right decisions and the offensive and defensive speed were the biggest reasons why Florida won this game.

Why Ohio State Lost It
Ohio State never got in the game. They were flat. They didn't make any adjustments in the second half, they didn't look like a better team in the second half. They didn't look like their heart was in it. It was just a weird game. I don't blame it on the layoff because I don't think that was it. I think this is one game where you can honestly say this was a total team loss. If you look at it, Smith didn't have a good game, the offensive line had a horrible game and their secondary played awful as well. Nothing was good.

MVP
Chris Leak. By far.
