Duke captains Daniel Ewing and J.J. Redick are scheduled to appear live on ESPN's Cold Pizza on Friday, Dec. 31. Cold Pizza is aired on ESPN2 weekday mornings from 8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. (ET). The segment featuring Ewing and Redick will air in the final thirty minutes of the program.
Ewing and Redick have led the Blue Devils to an 8-0 mark heading into a Sunday, Jan. 2 conference opener against Clemson at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Redick leads the ACC in scoring at 21.3 ppg., while Ewing is averaging 17.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.1 steals per game.
ESPN2 launched Cold Pizza on October 20, 2003 as part of its 10th anniversary celebration. The two-hour, weekday morning show airs live from New York City between 8am - 10am ET. Cold Pizza combines a unique blend of sports, pop culture, lifestyle features and consumer advice - all customized for ESPN viewers. The show encores between 10am - 12pm ET each day with live news updates.
Cold Pizza originates from a new studio near Madison Square Garden, and has an indoor viewing area which allows fans to observe the production. The show features Jay Crawford, Kit Hoover and Thea Andrews.
Cold Pizza also features live, on-location reports from the field, as well as interactive elements that encourage viewer participation in unique ways. Cold Pizza is produced as part of the ESPN Original Entertainment (EOE) franchise. Similar to other EOE initiatives, Cold Pizza is designed to broaden ESPN and ESPN2's audience by targeting young and casual fans. ESPN2 launched Oct. 1, 1993 with 10 million homes. It is currently available in 85.6 million homes.
