Montana Tops Minnesota in Old Spice Consolation

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) - Andrew Strait scored 17 points and Jordan Hasquet had 14 to lead Montana to a 72-65 victory over Minnesota on Sunday in the seventh-place game of the Old Spice Classic at Disney World.

Bryan Ellis and Cameron Rundles each scored 10 points to help Montana (2-4) snap a four-game losing streak. Ellis, who also had 10 assists, hit four free throws in the final minute after Minnesota (2-4) closed to within two points.

Strait and Hasquet scored 11 points each in the first half and the Grizzlies rallied from an eight-point deficit for a 35-31 edge at the break.

Matt Dlouhy contributed eight points and 10 rebounds for Montana, which opened the second half with a 10-2 run to go up by a dozen.

Dan Coleman scored 13 points and Jamal Abu-Shamala finished with 12 for Minnesota, which has dropped four consecutive games. Lawrence Westbrook had 11 points and Lawrence McKenzie added 10 for the Golden Gophers.
