Men's Basketball lets one slip away against Arkansas in OT

By Tom Weber

ORLANDO, Fla. - Southern Illinois saw a five-point lead evaporate in the final two minutes of regulation as Arkansas rallied to send the game to overtime before winning, 61-53.

The Salukis (2-1) had both starting forwards -- Randal Falker and Matt Shaw -- foul out in the waning minutes of the second half. Without them in overtime, SIU did not score.

Jamaal Tatum led Southern with 17 points, while Falker added 14. However, Tatum missed a free throw with seven seconds left in regulation that could have been the game winner.
