Moraga, CA - When the 2005-06 Saint Mary's men's basketball season tips-off, Dick Callahan will return to the microphone for his 31st season as the Public Address Announcer. Callahan has been announcing at Saint Mary's hoops games since the 1974-75 season, when the Gaels were still playing in Madigan Gymnasium.

During his time as the PA Announcer for Saint Mary's, Dick Callahan has seen a number of memorable events. He was behind the microphone when the Gaels opened McKeon Pavilion on January 21, 1978 when SMC hosted Stanford. Callahan was also at Saint Mary's calling games as the Gaels won the West Coast Conference regular season championships in 1980, 1989, and 1997. In addition to the WCC titles, Callahan has seen the Gaels advance to the NCAA tournament three times in 1989, 1997 and 2005.

A local resident of Moraga, Callahan was also the PA Announcer for Saint Mary's football games from 1980 through the 2001 season. He also announced the Golden State Warriors games for 20 years, University of California football games and East-West Shrine football games.
