Lamar senior forward Justin Nabors will miss the next few months while he recovers from an injury he sustained in a pick-up game on Wednesday, Aug. 27.

After making a jump pass, Nabors came down and fractured his right leg and dislocated his right elbow.

"Justin is recovering nicely," head coach Steve Roccaforte said. "He is in good spirits and, physically, once he goes through rehab he should be 100 percent healthy.

"We anticipate the recovery process to be at least four months and if that's the case, he will redshirt this season."

The 6-6, 215-pound Nabors averaged 11.2 points and 6.4 rebounds last season and is the team's second-leading returning scorer. He started 15 of 29 games and averaged 24.4 minutes per contest. He transferred to Lamar from Northwest Mississippi Community College where he was a NJCAA honorable mention all-America selection and the Region XXIII Co-Player of the Year in 2006-07.
