WASHINGTON, DC -- Former George Washington basketball standout Carl Elliott has been invited to participate in a pre-draft workout for the NBA's Washington Wizards on Friday, June 8, at 1:30 p.m. on the Verizon Center practice court.
Elliott will be one of eight players taking part in two separate work-outs Friday. Three of those players, Derrick Byars of Vanderbilt, Nick Young of USC and Jamon Gordon of Virginia Tech; all faced Elliott in games last season.
Former Colonial Mike Hall signed a contract with the Wizards last season and was a member of the team for the second half of the season.
A native of Brooklyn, NY, Elliott concluded his college career as the winningest Colonial ever after playing in a total of 90 GW victories during his four-year career. The 6-4 point guard and team captain ranks second on GW's career lists for both assists (539) and steals (281) and he played in all 122 of GW's games, starting 120. His 1,256 career points ranks 23rd on GW's all-time scoring list. Last season, he was named the team's MVP and recorded the first triple-double in 93 seasons of GW basketball (17 pts., 12 rebs., 10 assists) against Temple on Feb. 17.
