A limited number of openings remain for the University of Tennessee Bruce Pearl Basketball Camps this summer. Included are Day Camps, Father/Son Camp, Team Camp and Individual Skills/Overnight Camp. Each of the camps will be held on the campus of the University of Tennessee. Registration will be open until the day each camp begins and will include walk-up registrations.
The Day Camps, which emphasize all aspects of the game of basketball, are available to boys aged five years to entering the eighth grade and are offered June 6-9 and July 18-21. The costs are $125 for five and six year olds (they will be dismissed at 1 p.m.) and $220 for boys seven years old and up. The Father-Son Camp is specifically designed to provide each father and every son with special and unique opportunities to be instructed in the fundamentals of basketball together. The Father-Son Camp is slated for June 10-11 and is offered to boys 5-12 years old and costs $100 for commuters and $125 for residents.
The Team Camp, which is June 12-15, allows high school teams to compete against each other and be seen by the Tennessee coaching staff. Each team is guaranteed 10 games with a tournament at the conclusion of camp. This camp is open to High School and AAU Teams (Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshman).
The Individual Skills/Overnight Camp emphasizes the development of fundamental skills and will take place June 19-23. Daily instruction and station work are designed to encourage the mastery of basic skills. Additionally, players are grouped according to age and skill level and will compete on teams in order to apply their individual skills to team concepts.
The Tennessee basketball coaching staff will administer the camp. Current and former Tennessee players, along with college and high school coaches from across the nation, will also help instruct the camp.
For more information on the camp, please contact the basketball office at 895-974-1206.
