Tulsa's Ben Uzoh will join a contingent of Conference USA players on a foreign trip to China.

Tulsa, Oklahoma - University of Tulsa's Ben Uzoh will join a contingent of Conference USA players on a foreign trip to China. The Conference USA team will play three games vs. Chinese Olympic/National Team, on May 28, May 30, and June 1, in three different cities in Guangdong Province, the cities are Foshan, Yangjiang, and Huizhou.
The team, coached by Memphis' John Calipari, features seven Memphis players -- Antonio Anderson, Robert Dozier, Willie Kemp, Doneal Mack, Pierre Niles, Jeff Robinson and Shawn Taggert -- , Tulsa's Uzoh and two players from Southern Miss and UTEP. In addition to the Memphis roster, Jeremy Wise and and Andre Stephens of Southern Miss, and Claude Britton and Julyan Stone will represent UTEP.
Memphis announced this first-of-its-kind exchange program with China, an initiative that will benefit student-athletes and coaches in both countries for years to come, back on September 20, 2007. It's a five-year program that will also include China sending its top coaches to the University of Memphis through 2012 to continue to learn more about the training methods of a University men's basketball program,
This season the five other Conference USA student-athletes will join with the Memphis team to face the Chinese team.
Uzoh was Tulsa's leading scorer with a 15.6 average, while also grabbing 5.4 rebounds and shooting 49-percent from the field. He was a second-team all-C-USA selection and earned C-USA all-tournament team honors.
The 6'3" junior guard led Tulsa in scoring in 25 career games, 24 times in steals, 13 times in assists and 12 times in rebounding. He has five career double-digit rebounding games and five career double-doubles. Uzoh had nine 20+ point games during his sophomore season and 10 in his career.
The C-USA team will be coached by Memohis' John Calipari and assisted by Tulsa's Doug Wojcik, UTEP's Tony Barbee and Southern Miss' Larry Eustachy.
