Bobby Lutz decides to stay at Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -Charlotte's Bobby Lutz turned down an offer to become South Alabama's new coach and will remain with the 49ers.

Lutz decided late Saturday night to stay at Charlotte, where he has two years remaining on his contract.

South Alabama needs to replace John Pelphrey, who was hired by Arkansas last week.
