LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) - Bill Self will remain the men's basketball coach at Kansas, a person familiar with the decision said Thursday.

The move ends uncertainty about Self's future after he led the Jayhawks to their first NCAA title in 20 years on Monday.

The person spoke on condition on anonymity because an official announcement had yet to be made. Kansas called an afternoon news conference to talk about Self's future.

Self spent much of the day meeting with athletic director Lew Perkins.
