S. Carolina State 60, Florida A&M 52

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - William Sago scored 16 points off the bench and South Carolina State cruised to a 60-52 win over Florida A&M Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

South Carolina State (14-15) led 33-22 at halftime after shooting 61 percent from the field and won despite the inside attack of Florida A&M (14-17).

The Rattlers got 17 points off offensive rebounds and pumped in 32 points from inside the lane. But Florida A&M made just 20 of 56 field goals and 55.6 percent of their free throws.

Brian Greene scored 19 points for Florida A&M and Lamar Twitty had 11.
