ATHENS, Ohio (AP) - Mychal Green scored 25 points, including a career-best seven 3-pointers, to lead Ohio to a 82-53 win Monday night over Central Michigan in the Mid-American Conference tournament's first round.
Green scored 19 points and hit five 3s during the first half as the Bobcats jumped in front 28-7 and kept a double-digit lead the rest of the way.
Ohio (18-10) hit seven of its first eight 3-pointers and led 50-32 at the half.
Guard Jeff Halbert scored a season-high 16 points for Ohio. Forward Leon Williams added 11 and guard Whitney Davis scored 10 off the bench.
Guard Giordan Watson scored 20 points while forward Chris Kellerman added 11 for Central Michigan (4-24).
Ohio led by as many as 31 during the second half and shot better than 50 percent for the second straight game.
