CULLOWHEE, N.C. (AP) - Western Carolina point guard Kyle Greathouse was released from a hospital late Wednesday after spending several hours in critical condition following a car wreck.
Greathouse was a passenger in a car that hit a tree and ran into a river about 2:20 a.m. on Wednesday.
Jaime Whitfield, 22, was charged with driving while impaired after registering 0.15 on a breath alcohol test, Highway Patrol Sgt. Matt Wike said. The legal limit in North Carolina is 0.08.
Greathouse was treated at Mission Hospital in Asheville, a hospital spokeswoman said. The senior started 17 of 19 games this season.
