CORVALLIS, Oregon (Ticker) -- In his first full day at the helm of the Oregon State men's basketball program, Kevin Mouton already is making an impact.

The interim coach announced Monday that junior forward C.J. Giles has been dismissed from the team.

Giles, a transfer from Kansas, appeared in 10 games for the Beavers this season. The native of Seattle averaged 6.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per contest.

Mouton replaced Jay John on Sunday, one day after Oregon State (6-12, 0-6 Pac-10) suffered its eighth consecutive loss - an 83-74 setback to Washington.
