No. 11 Purdue 99, No. 10 Michigan State 96 (OT)
March 1, 1998, at East Lansing, Mich.
Michigan State raised the season-finale banner before the game even started, but Purdue had other ideas. Even though MSU was up 49-43 at the half, Brad Miller's 30 points and 12 rebounds, combined with Brian Cardinal's 19 points, brought the Boilermakers back in a hurry. Michigan State's Morris Peterson managed to score with :02.1 left on the clock to send it to overtime, but Purdue came from one down to drain the last four points of the game. Purdue not only got the win but a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament.
