Ryan Hastings went 2-for-3 with a steal and a run to lead the Blue to a 6-4 win in game three of the Blue and Orange World Series.

Ryan Hastings led off the game with a bunt single, then stole second and scored to key a 6-4 win by the Blue team to stay alive in the Blue and Orange World Series. The Orange now leads the series 2-1 with game four set for Monday at 4:15 p.m. at Illinois Field.
"Hastings set the tone," Illini coach Dan Hartleb said. "He brought some great energy to the Blue team today. They did a good job of coming out very focused and jumping on the Orange team early."
In addition to Hastings' 2-for-3 effort, Mike Rohde went 2-for-3 with two RBI, Danny Schroeder was 2-for-3 with two RBI and Matt Dittman went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Aaron Ifft singled, stole a base and scored, Joe Bonadonna singled and scored, and Ryan Snowden and Joe Mercurio each scored a run.
Aaron Martin earned the win for the Blue with four innings of two-hit ball, giving up two runs - one earned - and one walk while striking out two. Ifft finished the game, giving up two earned runs on three hits and a walk in two innings.
For the Orange, freshman Kevin Manson took the loss after giving up six earned runs on nine hits in four innings, striking out two. Blake Hopkins finished the game with two perfect innings and two strikeouts.
