Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University baseball player Michael Myers (Wantagh, N.Y.) has been selected by Head Coach Dom Scala to join teammates Ralph Tropiano (Staten Island, N.Y.), Mike Thompson (Bethpage, N.Y.) and Bobby Calca (Elmont, N.Y.) as captains for the 2006-07 academic year. Myers was named an Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League All-Star in July.

"Mike has shown tremendous progress over the last three years. He has shown a strong work ethic and a positive attitude," Scala said. "Coming off of last year's injury he worked hard and had an outstanding season. He gained the respect of not only the players but the coaching staff."

Myers, a second-team All-East Coast Conference selection in 2006, posted a 5-3 record with two saves and was tied for second on the team in strikeouts with 41. He also posted a 4.84 ERA in 48.1 innings pitched.
