Inglett Becomes 12th Nevada Alum to Play In MLB

Reno, Nev. - Former University of Nevada outfielder/second baseman Joe Inglett became the 12th University of Nevada alum to play Major League Baseball when he was recently called up by the Cleveland Indians. Inglett earned All-America honors during his years with the Wolf Pack from 1997-00.

Since being called up by the Indians he has played both in the outfield and at second base. In 16 games he is hitting .310 with seven runs scored, two doubles, two triples, and five RBI for the Tribe. Twice he has gone 3-for-4 at the plate since joining the club. He ended his four-year career at Nevada with a .385 batting average and totaled 57 doubles, 12 triples, 20 home runs, and 179 RBI.

He joins former Nevada stars Shawn Barton (Mariners/Giants), Ryan Church (Expos/Nationals), Andy Dominique (Red Sox/Blue Jays), Corky Miller (Reds/Twins), Lyle Overbay (Diamondbacks/Brewers/Blue Jays), Eddie Plank (Giants), Chris Prieto (Angels), Chad Qualls (Astros), Darrell Rasner (Nationals/Yankees), Rob Richie (Detroit) and Chris Singleton (White Sox/Orioles/A's/Devil Rays) who have all donned Major League Uniforms after playing for the Pack. In addition to Inglett, Church(Nationals), Overbay(Blue Jays), Qualls(Astros), and Rasner(Yankees) are currently on MLB rosters although Rasner is on the disabled list.
