Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University baseball player Michael Myers (Wantagh, N.Y.) was selected to play in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League All-Star game as a pitcher. The game will took place on Saturday, July 8 on Metzger Field on the campus of Lafayette College. Myers pitched for the Kaiser Division, which lost to the Wolff Division, 9-0.
Myers, a member of the Long Island Stars (5-11), and has posted an ERA of 4.58, while pitching 19.2 innings. He has also struck out 20 batters and picked up one save.
Adelphi's Bobby Lanigan (Staten Island, N.Y.), Joe Maranino (Bronx, N.Y.) and Ralph Tropiano (Staten Island, N.Y.) are also members of the Long Island Stars. Lanigan has made seven appearances, striking out 20 batters and compiling an ERA of 2.00 in 22 innings pitched. Maranino has made 11 starts for the Stars and is third on the team in batting average (.258).
