TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State University freshmen Ike Davis and Preston Paramore have been named Second Team Freshman All-Americans by Baseball America, the publication announced today. This is the second Freshman All-American honor for both, as they were each named to the Freshman All-American team by Collegiate Baseball earlier this month.

Davis (Scottsdale, Ariz.) was named to the team as the designated hitter. Davis was also named First Team All-Pac-10 and the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year after hitting .329 with nine home runs and 65 RBI. The 68 runs batted in set a new school record for RBI by a freshman, and his 79 hits were the third most all-time by a freshman.

Paramore (Allen, Texas) was also a First Team All-Pac-10 selection after a debut season in which he hit .318 with 35 RBI while starting nearly every game behind the plate. The catcher handled 16 different Sun Devil pitchers this season while turning in a fielding percentage of .995.
