Sophomore Collin DeLome, who was named SLC player and hitter of the year, was named first-team ABCA All-South Central Region.

BEAUMONT - Collin Delome, William Delage and Dan Hernandez were named to the 2006 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-South Central Region team on Tuesday.
DeLome, who was the Southland Conference player and hitter of the year, earned ABCA first-team All-South Central Region honors in the outfield. Delage and Hernandez were named to the second team at pitcher and first base, respectively.
A sophomore from Buna, DeLome led the team with a .376 batting average with 57 runs scored, 89 hits, 16 doubles, six triples, 11 home runs and 56 runs batted in. He also led the team with a .633 slugging percentage and had a .431 on-base percentage. He already ranks as Lamar's career triples leader with 15.
Delage, who was selected in the 14th round of the 2006 MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians, posted a 9-4 record with a 3.12 earned run average and three complete-game in 17 starts. He struck out 102 in 109.2 innings pitched and limited opponents to a .251 batting average.
A senior from Nederland, Delage earned first-team All-SLC honors. He is Lamar's all-time career strikeouts leader with 271 and in games started with 51. His 26 career wins is tied for fourth place all-time and he ranks third in innings pitched (330.2) and sixth in ERA (2.89).
Hernandez, a junior from San Carlos, Calif., hit .350 with 45 runs scored, nine doubles, nine home runs and 42 RBI. He posted a .546 slugging percentage and a .435 on-base percentage. He was named second-team All-SLC.
The NCAA Division I schools are divided into eight regions. The South Central Region encompasses schools from the Southland, Sun Belt, Conference USA and Southwestern Athletic conferences, plus independents Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas-Pan American and Dallas Baptist. The first-team recipients from the eight regions are nominated for All-America honors.
Joining DeLome on the first-team from the SLC was Lee Todesco of Texas-San Antonio at first base and Brandon Morgan of Northwestern State at second base.
