Charleston, S.C. - The final pairings and game times for the first full day at the 2007 Southern Conference Baseball Championship were determined on Tuesday afternoon as the ninth-seeded Wofford Terriers and seventh-seed, The Citadel Bulldogs, both advanced from the opening round, single-elimination games.

No. 2 Western Carolina (40-16, 20-7 SoCon) will face the host Bulldogs in the final game tomorrow night at approximately 7:30 pm, while Wofford, who downed the eighth-seeded Furman Paladins 5-3 on Tuesday, will face the top-seeded College of Charleston Cougars at 1:00 pm. The Citadel scored five runs in the first two innings en route to a 7-0 shutout of 10th-seeded Davidson on Tuesday to advance.

Western swept the three regular season meetings with the Bulldogs in Cullowhee, winning 7-3 on Friday, 12-5 on Saturday and completed the sweep with an 18-3 win on Sunday. The three-straight victories marked WCU's first series sweep of The Citadel since 1994 when the Catamounts won three-straight over the Bulldogs in Cullowhee.

Wednesday's match-up pits two of the most successful SoCon programs against each other as Western and The Citadel have combined to win 30 conference regular season and tournament titles. Of the 23 all-time conference tournaments contested since 1984, one of the two schools has won 16 times and the two have played for the tournaments crown a combined 20 times. In addition to its nine tournament titles, Western has five runner-up finishes, while The Citadel has come out on top seven times in the post-season classic, finishing second four additional times.

Also, Western and The Citadel are the top-two programs in terms of tournament victories with the Catamounts having won 60 times while the Bulldogs, factoring in Tuesday's victory, have won 54 times.

Every game Western plays in the SoCon Baseball tournament will be broadcast by the Catamount Sports Network and can be heard locally in Western North Carolina on WWCU-FM, Power 90dot5 in Cullowhee or online at www.WWCUFM.com.
