CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The first game of the Purdue-Illinois baseball series in Champaign is under a weather delay as heavy rain continues to fall on Illinois Field.

The storm, stretching eastward to Cleveland and westward to St. Louis, looks to last approximately until 9 pm ET. Head coaches Doug Schreiber and Dan Hartleb continue to monitor the situation and will make a decision on the status of the game at a later time in the evening.

Illinois Field is a FieldTurf playing surface, so no concern is given to the playing condition of the field.

If Thursday's game is called due to rain, the game will be made up as part of a Friday doubleheader with a second doubleheader played on Saturday.
