SAN MARCOS - After an uplifting change of events with the past weekend of wins, the Texas State Bobcats look to carry the good fortune north on Tuesday to close out its non-conference regular season with the Baylor Bears. This will be the second meeting for the two teams this season and finalize the home-and-away series. First pitch at Ferrell Stadium is slated for 6:30 p.m.

The team hit for a .360 batting average in the trio of games and outscored opponents 37-7. In Game Two, the `Cats took a 26-4 victory over the Cowboys and slashed an all-time school record for most hits in a game with their 27-hit tally. The team rapped out seven home runs with pairs credited to Lance Loftin, Thomas Field and Paul Goldschmidt, for a team slugging percentage of .614.

The booming bats were backed by a 2.25 combined earned run average. The team forced McNeese's mound to give up 41 total hits and 33 earned runs, while leaving their pitchers with an 11.88 weekend ERA.

Zach Tritz tossed his fourth complete game of the season in the Sunday closer and gave up just one earned run off eight total hits in the effort. Tritz maintains the league lead for most wins with his 9-2 record.

Texas State hopes to carry over the fiery offense and strong arms to counter the Baylor Bears. BU fell in 2-of-3 games to Big XII-foe Texas over the weekend and will enter with a 28-22 overall record. The Bears are batting even with their opponents at .284 and the pitching staff rings in with a 5.14 ERA.

All numbers aside, Baylor took a 25-13 win over Texas State in the previous meeting at Bobcat Field and hold a 32-11 advantage over the `Cats at Ferrell.

Shaver Hansen boasts a .330 batting average and has 26 multi-base hits to lead the offense and four Bears follow with an above .300 average at the plate.

Baylor will start Randall Linebaugh against the Bobcats. Linebaugh falls low in the Bears bullpen with a 6.83 earned run average, allowing 31 hits in his 21.0 innings spent on the mound.
