Cullowhee, N.C. - The Southern Conference today named Western Carolina's Greg Holland as the league's baseball Pitcher of the Week, while Elon's Robert Rodebaugh was tabbed Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. Holland and the Catamounts will play one of their final two road games, facing Tennessee on Wednesday (May 10) with first pitch set for 7:00 pm at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. (GameTracker will be available on CatamountSports.com for those unable to attend the contest.)

The Catamounts' Holland pitched in two games versus UNC Greensboro, getting a win and a save with a 0.00 ERA. In game one versus UNC Greensboro, he pitched the final 2.1 innings, striking out three in earning the save. With the bases loaded and WCU holding onto a 6-3 lead in the seventh, Holland came in the game and struck out the only batter he faced in the frame to limit the damage. In game two, he entered with the game tied at 2-2 and a runner on second. Holland got an out to end the inning. The Spartans threatened again in the ninth, getting two runners on with one out thanks to two walks. However, Holland got a strikeout and ground out to end the contest and pick up the victory. The sophomore did not allow a hit or a run in the second contest with two walks and a strikeout.

Holland is 3-2 on the season with seven saves with a 1.62 ERA.

This is the sixth SoCon honor for a Catamount baseball player this season as Steven Strausbaugh was tabbed TIAA-CREF Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week on Feb. 22 and the Southern Conference Player of the Week on Mar. 20. Tyler Sexton was tabbed SoCon Pitcher of the Week on Mar. 13, Trey McDaniel was SoCon Player of the Week on Mar. 27 and Blake Murphy was named SoCon Player of the Month for March.

After playing at Tennessee, Western will host Kennesaw State for three games May 12-14. The Catamounts' final road game will be May 17 at East Tennessee State. Western will then conclude the regular-season with a key three-game homestand with Furman May 19-21.
