Wake Forest hits the road for another critical ACC series when the Deacs head to College Park to face the Maryland Terrapins. At 9-12 and seventh in the ACC standings, Wake Forest is just 1.5 games behind NC State for sixth and 2.5 games ahead of Virginia. The Terps, 18-22 overall and 5-16 in the ACC, enter the series in ninth place in the conference. The scheduled for the weekend series is as follows: Friday (7 pm), Saturday (1 pm/RSN) and Sunday (1 pm). There will be no radio for any of the games this weekend, but Saturday's game will be televised on Fox Sports South. Live stats will also be available at WakeForestSports.com via Gametracker.

INJURY UPDATE... Redshirt freshman Andrew Knox and junior catcher Dan Rosaia remain out indefinitely... Knox has a slight tear in his labrum and has not pitched since Mar. 2 against High Point... Rosaia injured his ankle against South Alabama on Feb. 18 and will miss the entire season after undergoing surgery on Mar. 21... Senior Tim Morley was out for nearly a month after injury his shoulder on Mar. 18 against Miami... Morley made his return on Apr. 16 and picked up the victory in relief against NC State... Morley made his first start since the injury on Apr. 19 against Winthrop.

THE STARTING PITCHERS... Maryland will open the series with senior southpaw Chris Bowen (2-2, 3.07 ERA). The Glenwood, MD native will make his 10th appearance for the Terrapins and second start of the season. In 29.1 innings of work, Bowen has allowed 23 hits and 10 walks while striking out 17. He has allowed two home runs and opponents are batting .209 against him.
The Demon Deacons will counter with sophomore right-handed hurler Josh Ellis (4-4, 6.67 ERA). The Lexington, KY native will make his 12th appearance and 11th start of the season. In 54.0 innings of work this season, Ellis has allowed 73 hits and 25 walks while striking out 31. He has allowed nine home runs and opponents are batting .335 against him.
Maryland will start junior right-hander Ben Pfinsgraff (4-2, 2.88 ERA). The Anapolis, MD native will make his 10th start of the season. In 56.1 innings of work, Pfinsgraff has allowed 46 hits and 11 walks while striking out 44. He has allowed four home runs and opponents are batting .216 against him.
The Demon Deacons will counter with sophomore right-handed hurler Charlie Mellies (2-3, 3.75 ERA). The Clifton, VA native will make his 13th appearance and eighth start of the season. In a team-high 57.2 innings of work this season, Mellies has allowed 71 hits and 16 walks while striking out 29. He has allowed five home runs and opponents are batting .292 against him.
Maryland will close the series with senior righty Chris Clem (1-6, 5.92 ERA). The Berwyn, PA native will make his 11th appearance for the Terrapins and 10th start of the season. In 59.1 innings of work, Clem has allowed 85 hits and 16 walks while striking out 37. He has allowed just one home run and opponents are batting .320 against him.
The Demon Deacons will counter with senior right-handed hurler Brian Bach (1-1, 3.76 ERA). The Winston-Salem, NC native will make his 16th appearance and fifth start of the season. In 38.1 innings of work this season, Bach has allowed 41 hits and 10 walks while striking out 19. He has allowed just one home run and opponents are batting .273 against him.
MARYLAND NOTES... Maryland, led by fifth-year head coach Terry Rupp, enters the weekend series with a 18-22 overall record and 5-16 ACC mark. Last weekend, the Terrapins dropped two of three games against Duke in Durham. Maryland, which stands ninth in the ACC standings, have dropped seven league games by two or fewer runs. The Terrapins, who are 10-10 at home and 6-11 on the road, have already played twice this week. Maryland hammered Coppin State, 17-2, on Tuesday, then slipped past Maryland-Baltimore Country, 3-2, in 11 innings on Wednesday.
The Terrapins are hitting .280 as a team, and is led by the trio of Truan Mehl, Jordan Wilson and Will Frazier. Mehl and Wilson are each batting a team-best .341 and have driven in a team-high 25 RBI. Frazier leads Maryland with six home runs. All-American candidate Justin Maxwell, who missed all of last season with an injury, was lost back in February with a broken wrist. Maxwell was hitting .455 with three home runs and five RBI over the first seven games. As a team, Maryland has struckout 262 times this season in 1378 at-bats, while drawing 134 walks. The Terps strikeout once every 5.3 at-bats, while walk just once every 10.3 at-bats.
Maryland's team batting average (.280) and earned run average (4.96) rank eighth in the ACC in each category, but their fielding percentage of .940 is the worst in the conference. Dan Melvin and Jason Von Behren each have 17 errors this season. The team has stolen 45 bases and has been hit by a pitch 46 times.
